BGD LegCon previews the upcoming Indiana legislative session. While the subject matter may be Indiana-specific, I felt it important to release an episode with this panel because it provides insight into how legislators think about water issues. Moreover, the context of the panel takes water out of its silo and places it in context of a slew of competing infrastructure issues, such as energy infrastructure and broadband. So please don’t discount this just because you don’t live or have a business in Indiana — the insights about how legislators perceive and address issues transcends political boundaries.

In this session, you’ll learn about:

  • How legislators deal with court cases affecting infrastructure
  • How legislators craft solutions to infrastructure problems
  • Whether it’s a water supply or a water infrastructure problem. Or both.
  • How legislators look at water quality issues, specifically lead
  • How industry addresses legislative proposals
  • How legislators perceive water supply issues that impact multiple states
  • Specific Indiana proposals to deal with infrastructure issues — maybe your state legislature can find some ideas here
